How do I prepare my skin before my appointment?
Yes, for best results waxing, pedicures and facials should be done at least one day prior to your tanning session. Exfoliation should be done 24 hours prior to tanning. Use a body scrub, paying special attention to elbows, knees and heels. On the day of your appointment your skin needs to be completely free of moisturising cream, deodorant, make-up and perfume. For best results, please ensure you wax or shave 1 day before your session. Hair removal should be done 24 hours prior to tanning to allow the pores enough time to close.
What is the best time to get a tan before an event?
We suggest 1-3 days prior to the event.
What should I wear for my appointment?
We recommend that you wear dark, loose clothing immediately following your tan, until your first shower. Also girls we recommend no bra after your tan is applied. During the tan session we will provide disposable underwear for your use.
How long before I can shower?
The Vita Liberata Sunless Tan solution takes no more than 8 hours to fully develop, thus the first shower is recommended no sooner than 8 hours after application at which time you can then moisturise.
How long will my spray tan last?
The tan will last 5-10 days. For best results, moisturize generously the day before your tan and then twice a day after the application.
For best results;
No Showering or rinsing (or doing the dishes or getting pet licks) for least 8 hours after you tan. If the spray tan gets wet during the initial darkening process in the first 8 hours, there will be imperfections in the finished look. Touching the tan excessively or when still wet will greatly increase the chance of imperfections on the hands/ fingers. Avoid long or excessively hot showers or baths; this may shorten the length of your tan. Pat your skin dry after bathing or showering. Chlorine in pools and spas may also shorten the life of your tan.
How often should I get a spray tan?
To maintain a natural year round tan we recommend every two weeks, if you want to be darker you can tan more frequently.
How long will the spray tan session take to complete?
The tanning session is completed within approximately 15 minutes, allow 15 minutes for set up/ breakdown of equipment per appointment/ group.
Will I smell after my tanning session?
The Vita Liberata luxury professional collection offers a superior skin treatment. Organic extracts hydrate and nourish skin, Flash Dry™ gives an instantly dry result so skin is not sticky and odour-free solution means you will only smell of your favourite perfume.
Is Spray Tanning safe?
Absolutely Yes, this is the safest way to achieve a golden tan. It’s safer than tanning beds and exposing your body to UV rays. It’s easier and faster than store bought tanning cream and it will assist in hydrating your skin. DHA is a sugar cane derivative that results in the tan and was approved by the FDA in 1973. When applied to the skin, DHA penetrates only the top layer of skin- it does not absorb into the body or bloodstream
What is the Tanning Solution Made Up Of?
The tan solution contains 2 major ingredients, DHA and Bronzer. DHA is not absorbed into the body and poses no possibility of toxicity and is FDA approved. It is not a dye; it works with the amino acids in the top layer of your skin to produce a natural tan exactly like the sun, but without the damage. The bronzer is the initial colour you see when the tan is first applied giving an indication of the colour your skin will be. The bronzer will wash off during the 1st shower and the tan underneath is often lighter than the bronzer.
Will the tan cause an allergic reaction?
Vita Liberata is a hypo-allergenic, organic, non-toxic tanning brand free from parabens, perfume, alcohol and all chemicals of concern and is tested to be as safe as can be. Should you have a concern, a patch test can be completed 24 hours prior to your appointment at your request.
Should I tan if I am pregnant or nursing?
If you are pregnant or nursing, it is in your best interest to seek the advice of your physician/ doctor.
Will the tan stain my clothes and sheets?
If your clothes or sheets have a little bronzer on them not to worry… The bronzer is completely water soluble and will wash out of clothes and sheets. However dark clothing is recommended immediately after tanning in case of transfer while still damp.
